Bio

I’m a 22 year old gadget geek from Norway that love all gadgets, especially those that can be DIY’ed in some way. I’m currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in economics and administration at Lillehammer University College (final year) and on the side I’m in my 7th year working a summer/part time job at the Norwegian Road Museum.

On the Internet I write for  Anything But iPod, GeekPlanetOnline as well as having done some guest articles at Pocketables for a brief period. Worklogs of my DIY projects once located at captain-odegard.com can now be found in the worklogs section of this site. If you’re on Twitter you can locate me at http://twitter.com/Cptnodegard. Use the links on the left to find my profiles on various sites.

Hobbies

My hobbies include games (Xbox 360), movies/TV and of course gadgets and general geekyness on the net. I’m a heavy user of digital content incuding digital magazines, e-books, audiobooks and podcasts. I love to tinker with stuff, be it DIY or trying to understand how things work (like the design of this website) but I’m always too lazy to actually read anything about anything so I tend to live by the “trial and error”-philosophy.

Every once in a while though it’s nice to just get away from the Internet so I try to walk an hour with my dog every day to get away from the stress, enjoy fresh air and catch up on a podcast or audiobook. Being a geek the walks do include using some tech like the Nike+ sensor to track the distance.
