iTP A3 EOS Upgrade Edition review
Review of the iTP A3 EOS Upgrade Edition flashlight. It uses a single AAA battery to output up to 80 lumens.
I just resurrected this light a few days ago after it died on my a couple of weeks back. It had been flickering from the start and eventually cut out completely. Turns out a wire had gotten loose and neededs to be soldered back on.
When working properly this is a solid light though. I pair it with a Energizer Lithium AAA battery to maximize runtime since the point of such a small light is gone if I need to carry spare batteries. I don’t use it enough to really turn that into a cost issue anyways. It has three settings; low (1.5 lumens), medium (18 lumens) and high (80 lumens). I normally use the high mode, and while my Romisen RC-N3 is quite a bit brighter the A3 puts out enough light for most situations.
I do prefer a clicky on/off switch instead of a twisty like the A3, but I can live with that. I have a cheaper clicky AAA light on the way so we’ll see which one is the best light overall. For $20 the A3 EOS is still not very expensive and a great overall light. Check out the video for more information or buy your own from Shiningbeam.
