Yesterday I got an idea for a new kind of sheath for fold-open pliers based multitools. Some sketchup sketches and a duct tape prototype later I had a plan for making a real prototype.

Unlike normal sheaths this one has a ridge in the middle to let the tool grip onto when closed. This means you don’t need walls like a normal sheath, and that means it’s easier to make and quicker to get the tool out of. The finished sheath is not something I’m going to use, just a full sized prototype to test out my idea. It works great, which was what I wanted to find out.
