Swiss Army Knife Wood Scales V2
My previous wooden SAK scales were OK, but pine tree isn’t exactly the most exotic (or hardest) wood out there. That’s why I started looking for some more exotic wood, and I found some.
First I found a bit of juniper wood in the basement, and turned those into scales for the 84mm Tinker that got the other two scale projects slapped on it. I then bought a 91mm Victorinox Spartan, and later the same day I stopped by a second hand shop to find a computer desk for when I move tomorrow, and I found a $3 wooden bowl with some very nice, unknown type dark wood. I immediately ripped the red plastic scales off the brand new Spartan and went down to the basement to make new ones. They turned out awesome in my opinion, so good in fact that the spartan has now become my EDC (Every Day Carry) knife. Below is a bunch of artistic pictures of the two. The Spartan is the one most heavily represented, if you wondered which was which.
EDIT August 18:
Added two pictures of the new scales I made for the Spartan out of curly birch, after its dark wooden scales were donated to a new Victorinox Climber (adds scissors and a hook to the Spartan tool set).
